Tom Burris is a Music Producer and Creative Professional specialising in Artist Management, Tour Production and Video.
Tom took to turntablism and became fascinated with recording and sampling techniques used by Hip-hop heavyweights DJ Premier and Dr Dre. Tom became a self-taught bedroom Producer under the alias Toe Jam. Studying at The Academy of Contemporary Music spawned collaborations with a Trip-hop project Dark Solutions. Broadening his musical horizon, Tom teamed up with soul singer/songwriter Wesley Lucas, producing tracks ‘Do Somthin’ and ‘Redemption’.
In his final year of studying, Tom worked with rapper Opus One from the Hip-hop group Arkane. Tom dealt with PR and plugged a feature of ‘Drop the Truth’ on BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra’s Ras Kwame show. Shortly after the track was compiled for promotional CD for the Boxfresh Clothing and cult film Kidulthood, in which Opus appeared. After graduating Tom recorded sessions with rock band, The Felony, subsequently becoming their manager.
Tom teamed up with Shameless Talent to record and develop artists, working on a range of music projects, including clients The Actually Chorus, The Zimmers, Herbie Flowers and business start-up Gigseen.tv. The team expanded, becoming The Clear Image Company, where Tom took more of an involvement with animation and video. Clients include Peter Andre, Shaggy and Jesus Jones. This opened opportunies within tours, festivals and events, where Tom has worked on the production of Shangri-La, Glastonbury Festival and BoomTown Fair.
Tom recently joined Artist Management company ie:music, who manage Robbie Williams, Passenger, Will Young and Lemar.
